Norfolk County Hall, Norwich
Norfolk County Hall, home to Norwich Council, has undergone a huge £14.2million redevelopment. With the plan centred around modernising the 98,000 sq ft workspace, the original building, which was first opened in 1968, was outdated and in need of a revamp.
The redevelopment saw refurbishments made to the north wing, the main tower basement, and the lower ground floor. Alongside this, open-plan spaces were created to accommodate the council’s 995 staff.
Architects Purcell UK asked us to recommend a larger open wire mesh with fine detail instead a larger plain square mesh. The designers emphasised the importance of the mesh being made of copper as they wanted to accent the staircase at Norfolk County Hall. Based on the above requirements, our Banker Wire M22-27 in copper was the best option for the wire mesh railing infill panels.
