The Skipper Building, London

Bursting with history and heritage, the Skipper Building is a large-scale building with office spaces set across five floors.

This stunning building, which was once a former brewery and tobacco factory, has been transformed into unique warehouse-style offices.

The office design, which centres around heritage, includes some incredible features like exposed brickwork, original timber beams, and expansive ceilings, all of which pay homage to the building’s pre-historic past.

Alongside this, the design also incorporates an “old meets new” feel, with the space boasting a concoction of character mixed with a modern take to accommodate a healthier, more sustainable way of working.

Situated in the heart of Clerkenwell, the crafty, creative, and food hub of the capital, The Skipper Building features a beautiful roof terrace, a rear garden, bike storage, and showers, as well as other modern amenities.

Working alongside GPAD and Scott Osborn we were asked to provide a solution for the external entrance façade, external canopy, external planters, internal mesh ceilings and bespoke wall trims.

For the external façade we designed and supplied our AW100 system which were aluminium panels water jet cut to a bespoke geometric pattern. The panels had an internal backing layer which was powder coated in a different colour to create the striking contrast. Along with facade, we also designed and supplied the bespoke soffits, bespoke canopy and planters outside of the building, which were both given the same finish to match the facade.

Internally we supplied 2 bespoke AC320 mesh ceiling rats on the first and second floor along with bespoke gold angle trims for the reception area to create a contrast between the black concrete walls.
